We are seeking a Materials Manager for our client, a leader in Metal Fabrication with multiple locations in the US and Canada. Our client is willing to train and develop qualified candidates in order to fulfill the responsibilities of directing and coordinating the day-to-day material operations including forecasting, master scheduling, production control and material planning.? This position is also a leadership role that will drive improvement programs and the implementation of best practices in the discipline of material and value stream management.?

-Develop and execute the material management action plans required to achieve the department goals related to inventory turns, inventory levels, customer service levels and operating profit.?
-Collects requirements from the production department and designs specifications and budget for the raw material.
-Negotiates with the vendors and places order for the raw materials and makes sure that the placed orders are delivered on time.
-Supervises shipping of the materials to ensure that they there are no defective items in the materials.
-Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor' s degree from four-year college or university required, Operations or Business preferred
- APICS Certification preferred, but not required
-Specialzation in Logistics, Materials Management, or Supply Chain Management
-3+ years experience in a supervisory position
-Experience with Lean concepts such as VSM, Kanban, JIT and Kaizen
- Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
- Dedicated work ethic and attention to detail
