We re seeking a Quality Inspector (CMM Technician) for our client, a supplier of railroad and transit system products located in Winston-Salem! This position is responsible for performing setups and operating programs on a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). We currently have openings on all shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd) and a pay rate of $17.00 per hour is offered, with flexible scheduling! This is a long-term temporary opportunity in a state-of-the-art facility that includes numerous green technologies to improve sustainability & efficiency. Ideal candidates will be familiar with high volume CMM inspection, and have knowledge of reading complex prints and understanding GD&T inspection. Essential Responsibilities:
- Read & analyze/interpret complex prints, GD&T inspection, and CMM programs and inspection results
- Setup and operate programs on a Coordinate Measuring Machine, and setup parts on CMM machines using modular fixturing and pre-described Standard Work instructions
- Program CMMs and Romer arm equipment with Pcdmis 2011 mr1 CAD ++, and manage the operation of multiple CMM machines at one time
- Interface closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Design and Global Purchasing during execution of dimensional checks on production parts, interplant parts and purchased finished parts
- Conduct hard gaging of product
- Provide guidance in situation when GD&T application is subjective
- Execute to part inspection sequences, priorities and schedules, and document daily issues and production results in an organized fashion
- Assist in MSA and Gage R&R as needed, and train other Technicians on the operation of CMM equipment and procedures
- Utilize SAP to conduct transactions of material movement, and create standard work for day-to-day tasks
- Participate/Facilitate Fast Track DMAIC investigations as needed, and conduct 5S audits and execute to 5S expectations in the work area
- Validate standard work changes and participate in SFMEA activities
- Notify supervisors and other personnel of nonconforming material, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems
- Transport very heavy loads with crane or electric pallet jack

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Comfortable lifting and/or moving up to 35 pounds
- Comfortable working with moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes, and lift truck traffic
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
- Leadership skills

Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience with CMM operation, Gage R&Rs, and inspection is preferred
- Technical Certificate (Drafting, Machine Shop Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology) is preferred
- Proficiency in speaking GD&T, specifically ASME Y14.5M and proper interpretation and appropriate evaluation to part and application
- Knowledge of CPS tools (Card Process, 5S, Stop-to-Fix, Andon System) and of ISO/TS/CQMS Standards is preferred
- Previous experience with SAP and Gage Labs is preferred
