We are hiring a Sensory Technician (Tester) for our client, a family-owned and operated food flavoring business in Greensboro! This role will take place in an office setting, with responsibilities including setting people up on panels, and guiding them through sensory tests (tasting samples), as well as operating a variety of basic laboratory equipment. Qualified candidates will have strong analytical skills, strict attention to detail, and the ability to perform different procedures simultaneously. This is an exciting Temp-to-Hire opportunity, with a 1st shift schedule (8: 00am-5: 00pm) and offering a pay rate of $15.00 per hour! Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruiting, screening, and training sensory panelists
- Help maintain all records, both written and electronic (such as training protocols, screening results, daily testing data, tasting lots, etc.)
- Daily panel set up and break down
- Identify and source appropriate reference retains and other sample materials
- Compounding formulas as needed for sensory objectives
- Identify appropriate tasting solutions and tasting levels
- Remind panelists of tasting obligations and protocols
- Daily data entry and results brief
- Keep tasting area clean and stocked, and monitor supply inventory replenishing as needed
- Apply flavors into applications
- Monitor panelist attendance, performance and supply feedback

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic mathematical skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate through written instruction and or data entry
- Knowledge of basic lab practices to operate and maintain a safe and professional lab working environment
- Tact and human relations skills in dealing with panelists
- Ability to compound MML formulas
- Interested in food and able to and willing to taste a wide variety of flavors, food, and beverage products
- Able to work independently to carry out assignments and submit results in a timely and accurate manner
- Good computer skills, with advanced excel skills
- Successful completion of any pre-employment skills testing required
