What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of component parts following approved procedures, work instructions, and blueprints
- Complete final product builds, typically requiring advanced assembly skills developed over time
- Read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), job travelers, and manufacturing documentation
- Identify parts, verify correct components, and locate materials efficiently
- Perform pack?out procedures to ensure products are ready for shipment
- Assure the quality of your work and verify quality from previous production steps
- Safely operate tools and equipment in accordance with company and safety standards
- Physically move materials from primary storage locations to point of use
- Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively as part of daily operations
- Participate in monthly quality feedback meetings and continuous improvement activities
- Work within Lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Take part in ongoing training and support the development of new team members
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to perform simple shop math
- Ability to read and interpret BOMs, blueprints, and manufacturing instructions
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn hand tools, pneumatic tools, fixtures, and gauges
- Understanding of World Class Manufacturing principles (preferred)
- High School diploma or GED required
- One (1) year of final assembly experience preferred
- Previous mechanical assembly experience preferred, but motivated learners are encouraged to apply
