Position Summary

The Junior Accountant supports essential accounting functions including accounts payable, payroll processing, reconciliations, and general ledger tasks. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn nonprofit accounting and contribute to meaningful community work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Accounts Payable (A/P) including invoice review, coding, and timely payments
  • Assist with payroll processing (Paylocity experience a plus)
  • Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Support general ledger updates and basic journal entries
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Participate in audits, financial reviews, and reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or actively pursuing) preferred
  • Entry-level and junior candidates encouraged to apply—training provided
  • QuickBooks experience strongly preferred
  • Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with payroll systems; Paylocity experience helpful
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively
