We' re seeking a Manufacturing Accounting Manager for an excellent Direct Hire opportunity with our client, a leading producer of primary aluminum products and rolled aluminum coils in North America! This is a permanent position at their location in Salisbury, while the company itself has operations and production facilities all over the world, and offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Accounting Manger include preparation, maintenance, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly/yearly financial statements, as well as assisting with the monthly and quarterly forecasted statements, and development of the annual plan. The Accounting Manager will provide analysis to the plant management around cost variances and provide/assist with presentations to explain the plants financial performance. The position will work closely with the Regional Controller to maintain consistency of accounting procedures across sites. - Month End Close Journal Entries, Financial Statement Prep and Reporting (including variance analysis)
- Weekly report updates and metric reporting
- Maintain the integrity of ledger entries and accounting processes
- Ensure monthly appropriate reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
- A/P approvals and liaison between Engineering/Receiving and other departments
- Inventory control, movements and adjustments
- Provide audit information as needed
- Maintain a log of all journal entries to create an audit trail for all postings to the General Ledger
- Maintain a detailed fixed asset ledger (including proprietary depreciation and monitoring construction-in-progress accounts)
- Daily Shop Floor Editing and Costing
- Maintain a working knowledge of production control system to aid in analysis work and fill in for absences as needed
- Prepare yearly federal and state tax packages, NC tax credits, property tax returns, and the Labor Analysis Report
- Interact with corporate personnel and plant management and prepare reports and analysis as requested
- Coordinate and reconcile physical inventories
- Support, encourage and participate in all improvement initiatives, and serve on teams as member or leader
- Maintain and enforce plant safety and environmental policies
- Perform additional duties as directed by the VP Finance/Site Manager

- Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Seeking 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with inventory, and creating journal entries to close the books, preferably for manufacturing
- Dynamics AX experience
- CPA or CMA is preferred, but not required
- Must have knowledge of or the ability to learn accounting software, database software, manufacturing software and Payroll systems
- Above average Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious
- Ability to travel as necessary
