Job Description
The Resource is hiring Assembly Associates for our client, a manufacturer of storm windows and doors, located in Mocksville! This is a permanent, Direct-Hire opportunity in a climate-controlled facility, and a starting pay rate of $18.50- $19.50+ per hour (depending on shift) plus opportunity for increase! Current Openings are available on 1st and 2nd Shift and have a 10-hour schedule (Monday-Thursday). Assemblers are responsible for assembling products such as doors and windows, cutting and punching wood and metal materials, and cutting and processing various sizes and styles of soft plate glass. Ideal candidates for this role must be able to read and understand measuring materials, and understand assembly instructions. Responsibilities:
- Position and assemble parts according to knowledge of product or by following established processes or procedures
- Fasten parts together with clinching presses, screws, rivets, or other fasteners, and use glue to laminate wood with other materials
- Operate drill presses, sawing equipment, punch presses, laminating and riveting machines and other equipment
- Perform quality checks on products manufactured
- Utilize required safety equipment, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to eliminate or reduce workplace hazards
- Perform job requirements and operate equipment within safety guidelines and report any nonconformance
- Maintain acceptable attendance record and follow security policies
- Read and comprehend simple instructions from production standards, memos or other correspondence
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Reading and writing skills are essential in order to read and comprehend simple correspondence, numbers and letters facilitating order requirements
- Ability to process specified instructions
- Ability to add, subtract in all units of measure, using whole numbers
- Ability to measure, read, and understands a tape measure
