Job Title: Benefits Manager
Location: Mt.Airy, NC
Salary: $90,000 to 110,000 based on experience
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Benefits Manager to lead our employee benefits programs, ensuring competitive offerings that attract and retain top talent. This role oversees health, welfare, retirement, and leave benefits, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Benefits Manager also manages HRMS training and implementation, ensuring efficient system utilization.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and administer employee benefits programs, including health, welfare, retirement, and leave benefits.

Analyze existing benefits policies and industry practices to maintain competitive benefit offerings.

Evaluate and recommend insurance plans and benefit program modifications to executive management.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding employee benefits.

Lead benefits communications and education programs to enhance employee understanding and engagement.

Resolve employee benefits inquiries and issues by interpreting company policies and procedures.

Develop and execute a Wellness Strategy to promote healthy lifestyle choices and improve workforce productivity.

Manage relationships with third-party administrators, consultants, and other benefits vendors.

Provide timely and accurate responses to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.

While this role does not have direct reports, the Benefits Manager will provide guidance and mentorship to HR staff and management on benefits-related issues.

Oversee and evaluate the performance of third-party vendors, ensuring high-quality service delivery and cost efficiency.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in employee benefits management.

Strong understanding of benefits programs, government regulations, and compliance requirements.

Experience with self-insured medical plans preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
