Job Description
The Resource is hiring a Configuration Technician for our client, a national distributor of network products for broadband providers, located in Lexington! This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity offering a pay rate of $20.00 per hour and have a 1st shift working schedule (8:00am-5:00pm). The Configuration Technician would be responsible for determining and installing configuration files and firmware flashes on a variety of communication products. Qualified candidates for this role should have knowledge of loading and installing software (not PC related), skilled in programming and loading software onto units, and Cisco experience is a plus! Responsibilities:
- Determine and install configuration files and firmware flashes on a variety of communication products to ensure successful work has been performed
- Load custom files and firmware revisions per customer requirements
- Report successful file uploads and transfers to customers as needed
- Scan/capture/record data (serial, MAC, etc.) per customer requirements
- Fulfill customer-owned inventory orders
- Package and label products per customer requirements
- Periodically perform Production duties for kitting, assembly, wiring, packaging, cable production, and refurb per the needs of Management
- Assist Management by providing Production area updates as needed
Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of software configuration/installation experience or equivalent education preferred
- Experience with Switching & Routing of peripherals preferred
o Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, sub-netting, WAN/LAN structures, MGCP, SIP standards and protocols
- Must possess excellent communications skills written and verbal
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team
- Must be detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking large volumes of work
