In this full-time role, you'll leverage your expertise to develop precise cost estimates, collaborate with industry professionals, and help secure profitable projects that drive growth and innovation.
What You'll Bring to the Table:
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating
- Strong understanding of construction methods and building systems
- Proven ability to review drawings, specifications, and bid documents with precision
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Skilled in managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with renovations, tenant improvements, or ground-up construction
- Familiarity with local subcontractor and supplier markets
- Knowledge of negotiated and hard-bid projects
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Professional certifications like Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Sage Estimating, ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar
- Experience with construction management tools like Procore or Autodesk Build
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required
- 3+ years of relevant commercial estimating experience
- Background in commercial buildings, healthcare, education, industrial facilities, or retail projects
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel locally to project sites
- Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Training in our Kernersville office for one month; the position will be based in Charlotte
