We' re seeking an experienced Controller to join our client, a provider of building services and supplies, located in High Point! The Controller will manage a team tasked with executing all accounting operations, including ensuring adherence to the predetermined budget, as well as compliance with all federal, state and local laws as they apply to accounting operations, accurately forecasting cash flow and maintaining day to day records. Responsibilities of this role will include modeling and acting in accordance with the company' s guiding principles. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of Accounting experience, in a Controller or Management role, and a professional accounting designation is preferred. Responsibilities:
- Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge
- Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events, to set a positive example and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Execute the financial strategy of the company
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, billing, reporting, contractor, and employee payment
- Play a key role in developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the company
- Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company and provide advice and action plans on how to increase revenue and reduce costs
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, electronic and physical filing and record keeping system, so that authorized parties can locate resources as needed and necessary reports can be produced as required
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Organize duties by the appropriate level of priority
- Maintain speed and accuracy of billings and client payments
- Recognize and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with contractors, employees and customers by understanding and addressing individual needs and concerns

Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field of study
- Professional accounting designation is preferred
- At least 5-years of experience in the accounting field with the majority being spent in a controller or other management position is preferred
- Familiarity with Sage accounting software is a benefit
- Ability to complete accounting operations independently
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strategic and results-oriented thinker and planner
- Interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
