This position is a permanent, Direct-Hire opportunity located in Stuarts Draft, Virginia, and offers a salary range of $70,000-$85,000 (based on experience). Duties include establishing, administering, monitoring, and improving the site safety systems, processes, and programs. The EHS Manager will work with site leadership to direct and implement key initiatives for environmental, health and safety programs to ensure a positive, safe, healthy and incident-free work environment and is responsible for company compliance with all environmental and safety regulatory agencies. Responsibilities:
- Maintain a culture that is aligned with company EHS goals and objectives, with continuous EHS improvements. Serves as safety and environmental champion
- Manage, direct, coach, lead and motivate plant personnel to achieve EHS goals and objectives in a timely and safe manner
- Oversight and maintaining of VPP program, including timely internal audits
- Timely and accurate reporting of all safety, environmental, and regulatory records and documents
- Identifies safety and environmental training needs and puts resources in place to implement
- Ensures awareness of OSHA (state and federal) regulations and best industry practices
- Develops and implements effective communication of safety and environmental issues at the site
- Orients efforts on prevention and proactive approaches to safety and environmental issues
- Puts in places processes to ensure proactive EHS compliance. Develops cooperative relationships with appropriate federal, state and local regulatory agencies. Ensures all regulatory reporting is in compliance
- Researches, evaluates and implements innovative approaches to processes and metrics
- Develops partnership with the safety managers/coordinators at other company locations and WHQ, as well as cross-functional business partnerships
- Administers first aid as needed
- Ensures safe practices are followed in all personal tasks
- Plans and coordinates monthly toolbox talks to meet OSHA annual training requirements
- Develops effective reporting and other management processes
- Ensures personal skills and knowledge are current in the safety functional area
- Ensures an effective audit process of safety activities at the site.
Qualifications:
- 2 plus years of EHS Manager experience preferred. Experience with OSHA’s VPP program preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred. Experience with First Aid.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Certificate in Safety and Health field preferred
- OSHA 501Certification required
- Computer skills and Microsoft office suite
- Air Quality Monitoring, Decibel meter and other safety equipment
- EHS Software, SDS, Compliance, OSHA 300
