We' re now hiring an Equipment Maintenance Tech for our client, a global leader in aluminum engineering, manufacturing and innovation, located in Salisbury! This is a permanent, Direct Hire opportunity with a competitive salary and a 12-hour rotating shift working schedule. The Mechanic will work with a high degree of independence in repairing and installing equipment and utilities, and testing and servicing mechanical equipment/utilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform corrective actions and procedures
- Keep work area, tools and equipment clean and orderly
- Work with other craftsmen to coordinate the moving, changing, or placing of materials, parts, and supplies used in installing, repairing, or servicing equipment and utilities
- Teach, and lead others craftsmen in servicing and installing equipment
- Analyze and make independent decisions in taking corrective measures to eliminate problems and malfunctions
- Install, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Maintain rotating machinery and other complex equipment
- Read, interpret and perform work from blueprints, diagrams and verbal instructions
- Stay abreast of new or revised mechanical standards and developments
- Compile written report on malfunction investigation and/or corrective action taken on equipment
- Recommend substitutes and replacements for equipment not in stock or to improve and upgrade equipment
- Use and care for hand and power tools
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned or requested

Performance Standards:
- Perform assigned Mechanic duties according to Maintenance Department practices
- Ensure daily tasks are completed in time allotted, in compliance with established practices, and following safety rules
- Follow established guidelines in relation to attendance, breaks, on call responsibilities, and company policy
- Report machinery, safety or personnel issues with supervisor
- Determine nature of machinery malfunction or breakdown, and advise supervisor to arrange repairs as necessary
- Recognize safety hazards or unsafe activities of other personnel, rand report appropriately
- Support and participate in open communication between supervision and fellow employees
- Secure necessary supplies to perform assigned duties
- Meet specific performance standards to complete assigned tasks

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate from a secondary technical or vocational school, or 3-6 years of related experience and/or training
