Join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer – Fabrication and play a vital role in enhancing product performance, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest quality standards for Transfer Switches and Power Control Systems.
Key Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Engineer – Fabrication, you will:
- Collaborate Across Teams: Act as the primary liaison between Design Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure product quality aligns with company performance standards.
- Streamline Processes: Lead efforts to troubleshoot electro-mechanical production issues, implement process improvements, and optimize material flow through ergonomic work cell and line layouts.
- Drive Innovation: Investigate and implement cutting-edge equipment and techniques to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing processes.
- Foster Continuous Improvement: Initiate lean improvements, lead Kaizen events, and manage projects such as 6S initiatives, Value Stream Mapping, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain Work Instructions and Manufacturing Procedures within an ISO-approved environment.
- Support Product Evolution: Process Engineering Change Notices, review engineering drawings and product Bill of Materials (BOMs), and assist in the introduction of new products or product line transfers.
- Promote Safety: Maintain a safe and compliant work environment while adhering to company policies and standards.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSIE).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Metal Fabrication manufacturing environment as a Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing techniques (preferred).
- Familiarity with ISO9001 standards, inspections, and certifications (a plus).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ProE (preferred), and Microsoft applications.
- Experience with MRP systems like JD Edwards (JDE) is a plus.
- Knowledge of fabrication equipment (e.g., press brakes, turret punches, lasers, robotic welders).
