Job Description
The Resource is hiring a Field Service Technician for our client, a company that develops, produces and sells gaskets and gasket materials, insulation and insulation materials for various industries, located in Lexington, NC. This is a permanent, Direct-Hire opportunity that offers a pay range of $37,440-$52,000 per year (depending on experience) and offers a competitive benefit package that includes a premium while working in the field. The Field Service Technician will assist with the expansion of the field service crew in the heavy construction industry to take up manual labor tasks and support our projects operations at multiple worksites. The primary customers for this company are power plants, paper mills, steel mills, and chemical plants, so safety is a must. Previous experience working in a power plant environment is preferred for this role. Candidates for this role must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel either by ground and or air and comfortable being away from home for as long as 2 to 3 months at a time during the spring and fall outage seasons. Responsibilities:
- Follow instructions and take direction from the field supervisor(s)
- Work safely and compliant with OSHA 1O
- Operate general hand tools such as wrenches, power drills, impact guns, grinders, etc
- Ability to climb ladders and adjust to heights at or above 30 feet
- Collect trash, debris, and other waste to keep the site clean and safe
- Lift heavy loads up to 75 pounds on a regular basis and stand for long periods of time
- Concentrate on performing your tasks at hand and commit to safety rules
- Work with fabric and fiber insulation
- Be punctual and on-time for work and pre-job briefings
- Willingness to learn our business and craft for future advancement into a field supervisory position
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience in a power plant environment, plasma cutting, steel fabrication. welding a plus
