We' re seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a Direct Hire opportunity with our client, a supplier of industry leading material handling equipment! The company currently has five locations, throughout North Carolina and Virginia with this position being held out of their Wilmington, NC location. This position offers a competitive salary and has a 1st shift working schedule (7: 00am- 4: 00pm) .This is an exciting opportunity to join a company whose years of experience allow them to serve their customers at the highest level. The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and construction equipment. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working as a Diesel Mechanic, experience in troubleshooting and repair, basic computer skills, strong mechanical aptitude, heavy equipment operation experience, and knowledgeable of preventative maintenance . Duties & Responsibilities:
- Properly diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and engine problems
- Remove and replace damaged, worn, or failed components for repairs and service updates
- Install parts and components correctly within a timely manner
- Rebuild hydraulic devices, undercarriages, and various types of engines
- Test and perform quality checks on repairs of rental and compact construction equipment
- Perform duties both in the shop and at customer sites
- Maintain accurate documentation on work orders

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2- 3 years experience in construction or compact construction equipment repair
- Working knowledge of hydraulic devices and hydrostatic operating systems
- Electrical/CAN Bus troubleshooting experience
- Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines
- Ability to operate computer for diagnostic testing purposes
- Basic welding skills
- Auto A/C system knowledge and experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must provide a high level of customer service
- Must have full set of mechanics tools and basic electrical test equipment
- Must have or be eligible for a Commercial Driver s License and acceptable driving record
