The Resource is hiring an IT Support Specialist for our client, a leading manufacturer of flavor extracts, located in Greensboro, NC. This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity that offers a pay rate of $20.00 per hour, and has a 1st shift schedule (8:00am-5:00pm). The IT specialist would be responsible for assisting with the management of computer hardware and software, providing end user assistance, training and support where required, troubleshoot, and resolving computer issues and maintaining technical documentation. Duties also include supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, business applications and other IT assets. Ideal candidates for this role should be familiar with various operating systems protocols and tools, knowledgeable for network and server protocols, and have previous work experience in manufacturing/distribution. Responsibilities:
- Support user base for existing applications
- Working with users to identify and solve problems, identifying and fixing problems with the software, and identifying needs not met by the systems
- Acting as subject matter expert on various systems. Requires training (primarily self-directed) on development technologies used by the various systems
- Participate in administrative meetings to establish task assignments and track progress
- Gain basic understanding of ERP applications to support users
- Create and assign employee ID badges
Qualifications:
- 5+ years previous work experience
- Manufacturing/Distribution required
- Active Directory Management, Add/drop/change user management, DNS & DHCP, Printer Management, File sharing management, Datto backup, Firewalls - VPN, VoIP phone system, MS Office 365/ Teams, IOS & Android Support
- Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines
- Understanding of typical business administration department processes and functions
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing, Project management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate, Problem solving & analytical thinking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiar with various operating systems protocols and tools
- Familiar with network and server protocols
- Ability to provide support during non-core business hours including weekends and holidays, as required
- Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with 0-2 years of work experience or equivalent experience
