We' re seeking a Knitting Technician/Supervisor for our textile client in Winston-Salem! This position offers a competitive salary range based on experience and has a 12-hour, night shift working schedule (7: 00pm-7: 00am), on a 2-2-3 rotation. The Knitting Technician organizes and controls the production flow in the knitting department, coordinates activities and coaches people on the production floor, and manages the knitting creelers, operators and fixers. This position will report to the Knitting Manager and the ideal candidate will have previous experience operating knitting machines, and have excellent training and communication skills. - Follow machine performance and provide efficient process flow to include machine speed
- Maintain clean environment in and outside of knitting machines
- Settings/calibrations of machines and style changes
- Perform preventive maintenance and guide other technical personnel on equipment
- Perform machine installations
- Assign employee work schedules, time off, track attendance and tardiness and coach/discipline to correct attendance issues
- Evaluate performance of personnel and coach/discipline when necessary
- Troubleshoot defects on machines
- Ongoing evaluation of knitting machine quality performance (such as broken needles, drop stitches, stripes)
- Maintain condition of machines to avoid things such as oil leaks, incorrect threading, parts not properly functioning, etc.
- Positive communication, coaching and making sure team is well organized
- Tracking quality and efficiency performance of machine, and new materials and products
- Maintain proper inventory level for spare parts and give advice on necessary changes in inventory or with specific parts
- Maintain log stating shift issues, performance, employee attendance, etc. Which is used for following shift
- Technical training of staff as well as additional training necessary to increase performance of team
- Verify knitting personnel are following standard operating procedures and retrain when necessary
- Maintain and create a safe work environment to include discipline or corrections as necessary
- Continuous improvement projects and lead role in all improvement projects
- Attend quality meeting and take actions to reduce off quality
- Document bad performing raw materials and spare parts and communicate with appropriate staff members to include Knitting Manager

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass all pre-employment screening and testing
- Comfortable climbing 8-foot ladders
- Comfortable working with a certain amount of dust, lint and oil mist in the air
- Comfortable with contact with oil, greases and lubricants
