Lab Technical Assistant - Research & Development
Location: Greensboro, NC
Salary: $20.00 per hour
About Us:
We are currently seeking a Technical Assistant to join our client’s dynamic R&D team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge flavors and formulations. Their Research and Development (R&D) department plays a critical role in creating new products and providing technical support across all departments.
Job Summary:
The Lab Technical Assistant in the R&D department is responsible for compounding formulations for customer requests and R&D projects, maintaining a well-stocked and organized laboratory, and performing sensory taste tests as needed. This role reports directly to the Sample Lab Supervisor and requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient lab environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compound flavors for customer samples and R&D personnel.
- Prepare sample formulations for Quality Control (QC) when needed.
- Assist in developing prototypes for R&D projects.
- Ensure raw materials in the R&D lab are stocked and properly maintained.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory.
- Perform sensory tasting (optional, if needed).
- Support additional R&D tasks as assigned.
- Education: Some college preferred, particularly in a science-related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic laboratory skills and familiarity with lab practices.
- Ability to compound MML formulas accurately.
- Strong math skills and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong record-keeping abilities.
- Knowledge & Compliance:
- Understanding of food safety regulations and ability to complete necessary training.
- Ability to maintain a safe and professional lab environment.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
