Key Responsibilities:
Workpiece Preparation:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine specifications.
- Prepare workpieces by cleaning, degreasing, and positioning materials for welding.
- Set up MIG welding equipment, selecting the correct wire, gas, and voltage settings for material type and thickness.
- Adjust welding parameters, including wire feed speed and travel speed, to ensure strong, clean welds.
- Perform MIG welding to join metal parts, maintaining proper torch angle, arc length, and technique.
- Monitor weld quality, identifying and correcting defects such as porosity, undercut, or incomplete fusion.
- Inspect welded joints using measuring tools and gauges to verify accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Repair or rework welds that do not meet quality standards.
- Proven experience as a MIG Welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and job specifications.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
