Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Operation:
- Set up machines following detailed process specifications unless directed otherwise.
- Ensure all machine controls are properly set for optimal operation.
- Conduct safety checks to ensure the machine is ready for operation.
- Maintain communication with the lead person to meet frame requirements and ensure continuous production.
- Inspect fabric and note any defects during the production process.
- Maintain accurate documentation on work orders, and report any uncoated fabric quality issues.
- Keep track of material throughout the process, checking for quality at each stage.
- Maintenance & Housekeeping:
- Perform routine cleaning of rubber troughs, rollers, and machinery using scrapers, solvents, and rags.
- Use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for solvent use.
- Ensure proper housekeeping to maintain a safe and orderly workplace.
- Keep sufficient chemicals in the coating trough and maintain talc powder levels in the duster for airbag frames.
- Properly ticket, wrap, and prepare each processed roll for shipment.
- Cut swatches for lab testing as required.
- Fill out production reports accurately and timely.
- Enter computer transactions for each production run.
- Report any quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
