The Resource is hiring a Machinist for our client, one of the largest integrated, diversified providers of rolling stock and infrastructure solutions and technologies for the global rail industry, located in Winston-Salem, NC! This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity that offers a pay rate of $18.00 - $25.00 per hour (depending on experience), and has openings on 1st and 2nd shift. Candidates will train on 1st shift for 1 month. The Machinist would be responsible for moving parts with the crane, loading fixtures, operating a rollover machine, and completing deburr work. Duties will also include operating a standup forklift to unload/load parts from the washer. Ideal candidates for this role should have vocational training in machining or previous machine operating experience. Responsibilities:
- Adjust machine settings to ensure proper tolerances, surface finish, and dimensions are achieved
- Monitor machines during operation to detect any issues or deviations from specifications
- Select appropriate cutting tools, drills, and other tooling for specific machining tasks
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out parts
- Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to achieve precise measurements and tight tolerances
