The Resource is hiring a Maintenance Controls Technician for our client, a leading manufacturer in foam materials, located in Greensboro, NC! This is a contract opportunity with the possibility to be hired permanently. This position has a 1st shift schedule and offers a starting pay rate of $20.00-$25.00 per hour (depending on experience). The maintenance technician would be responsible for breakdown maintenance activities on machines, develop troubleshooting techniques for the equipment and controls, and perform routine and nonroutine industrial maintenance tasks. Responsibilities:
- Utilizes electrical and computer skills to program controls for production equipment; ensures that it is running in the most efficient manner possible
- Performs all work in a timely manner
- Performs preventive maintenance as assigned
- Fills out work orders completely and accurately when work is finished
- Maintains inventory control of parts in assigned area, using proper 5S techniques
- Generates purchase order requests for needed parts
- Responds to all electrical-related repairs as they arise
- Ability to bend & run conduit as required for jobs or projects
- Works projects as assigned, including around company holidays and idle plant times
- Utilizes electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical systems to determine corrective actions and repairs
- Troubleshoots any issues related to PLC, HMI, etc., and makes necessary repairs
- Works with vendors obtaining quotes based on needs and specifications
- Conducts equipment testing (FAT) to ensure that it meets specs initially and continues to meet job specifications
- Supports process design and continuous improvement in a variety of production processes
- Serves as technical resource to Operations, Reliability, Engineering, etc. on controls related issues including troubleshooting, analysis and recommending practical corrective actions for control-related problems
- Identifies opportunities and make recommendations to improve plant performance utilizing or improving current control systems.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in maintenance within a high-volume manufacturing environment
- 5 years of experience with electrical and mechanical PLC based applications in an industrial environment
- 5 years of experience with tools, procedures and methods utilized in an electrical maintenance environment
- Basic skills in connecting to and troubleshooting PLC ladder logic
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Allen Bradley and Siemens
- Trained in ARC Flash safety

Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment
- Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with an emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent
- Basic computer literacy, including skills with Microsoft Office
- Able to work in difficult situations such as tight spaces, heat, and elevated places
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with demanding and odd hours
- Experience in selecting and installing process instrumentation
- Formal training with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs, HMIs, Servo Drives
