Our client, the nation's largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to supervise, train, and coordinate activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment. Ensure optimal plant and machine utilization results. This is a Direct Hire, first shift Monday- Friday position in Gallatin, TN.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Maintenance Department by supervising daily work and schedules as well as capital projects and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment:
  • Manage the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of production machinery and support equipment and assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Promotes a positive atmosphere in the maintenance department and other departments
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties
  • Confer with production supervision to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • Remain proactive related to diagnosing and preventative care of equipment
  • Manage the MAXIMO CMMS and supervises CMMS point person
  • Ensure that all department safety practices and processes are followed
  • Work with direct reports to develop areas of weakness through coaching and teaching hands-on during the accomplishment of assigned work as well as developing and conducting training to improve individual performance
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
  • Research and execute capital appropriation expenditures
  • Provide opportunities for subordinates to initiate continuous improvement ideas.
  • Overtime, on call, and occasional weekend work.
Qualifications:
  • Broad technical training (high school plus 1 to 3 years apprenticeship/applied trades training or 2-year Associate Degree).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Requires specific work-related experience in all facets of the technical field, industrial electrical (3-phase), controls and devices, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, mathematics, all shop and hand tool usage, to include welding, machining and cutting.
  • Experience leading and directing a manufacturing maintenance team. Steel wire manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • Organizational experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) preferred.
  • Should have significant experience in the following: A proven track record of success in a manufacturing maintenance management role, stable work history, knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Practices, and the ability to lead and develop a productive workforce.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
