The Resource is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our client, a manufacturer of industry-leading flexible packaging, located in Winston-Salem. This is a permanent, Direct-Hire opportunity that will train on day shift (6:45am-3:00pm) for approximately one year,  Upon completion of the training, candidate must be flexible to be assigned to 2nd, 3rd or 12 hour continuous night shft.  The Maintenance Technician would be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting machine problems and making emergency repairs or necessary changes to mechanical systems. Responsibilities: 
- Adhere to all company safety/ health rules.
- Troubleshoot machine problems and make emergency repairs or changes as necessary to mechanical systems. If temporary repairs was made follow up and ensure permanent repairs has been made
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections safety checks and housekeeping assignments on equipment (maintain records as necessary)
Evaluate recommend and/or implement changes to improve machine health as needed
- Update prints and procedures as needed
- Maintain appropriate documentation
 - Evaluate parts requirements for new or existing equipment and make recommendations to set parts up in stock
- Research locate and order appropriate parts as needed
-  Assist with modifications and capital projects as required
Communicate with vendors support groups and management about equipment issues
- Perform duties to provide trainess with good working knowledge.
- Adhere to all company safety/ health rules
- Suggest/implement improvements in safety and health procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor

 Qualifications: 
- AAS degree in Machine Technology  or related field preferred
- License in an mechanical field from an Oracle approved institution
- One year diploma/certificate, or completed equivalent mechanical training during military service will be considered
- Similar previous experience will be considered
- Successful completion of the Reading and Math test to the Tenth grade level
- Successful Completion of IVO certification training (Industrial Vehicle Operator)
- Successful Completion of JSA reading (Job Safety and Health Analysis)
- Successful Completion of GMP  (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Adhere to all company safety/ health rules.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and components
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings
- Detailed -oriented with strong organizational skills
- Skills using precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work and think independently and work as a team member
 - A strong knowledge of math.
- Ability to effectively communicate with operations associates, vendors and support groups
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Basic knowledge of lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures
- Successful completion of Aerial Platfrom Training
- Successful completion of Safety Harness Training
