Role Overview
The Peeler Machine Operator is responsible for day-to-day operations within an automotive fabrication environment. This role is critical to maintaining production flow, minimizing downtime, and meeting safety, quality, and output goals. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to consistency and reliability. Cross-training across multiple fabrication processes is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate peeler machines as part of the automotive fabrication process
- Load and unload machines efficiently to minimize downtime
- Accurately report production output and scrap
- Use proper handling techniques to prevent product damage
- Identify, document, and report machine issues and downtime
- Communicate regularly with the Supervisor regarding quality defects
- Coordinate with the Servicer to meet daily production goals
- Maximize foam usage to achieve optimal yield and reduce waste
- Use a tape measure and understand standard measuring increments
- Assist with inventory-related duties as required
- Maintain continuous focus on departmental goals, safety, and quality standards
Manufacturing Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of strong, consistent manufacturing experience
- Demonstrated stable work history with no short job tenures
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Must successfully pass a Math Assessment before moving forward to the interview stage
- Reliable, dependable, and consistent in attendance
- Detail-oriented with strong mechanical aptitude
- Comfortable working in a production-driven manufacturing environment
- Team-oriented mindset with clear and professional communication skills
- Takes ownership of quality, safety, and performance expectations
