Are you a driven Production Manager with a passion for streamlining operations and empowering teams? We're looking for a Production Manager who excels in both employee relations and manufacturing process optimization, with strong computer skills including ERP systems, data entry, and inventory management.
This is a full-time, on-site leadership opportunity in Mt. Airy, NC, ideal for professionals with a background in manufacturing, team management, and digital systems integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily plant operations while upholding and enforcing safety standards
- Monitor and manage production schedules, inventory levels, staffing needs, and budgetary constraints
- Direct production, processing, and distribution activities
- Implement and analyze production tracking and quality control systems
- Hire, train, evaluate, and manage a dynamic team
- Maintain accurate production reports and personnel records
- Ensure compliance with quality standards through raw material sampling and process testing
- Approve budgets and expenditures; maximize use of resources
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, upgrades, and process improvements
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
- 2–4 years’ experience in manufacturing leadership
- Proven experience balancing employee engagement with operational excellence
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, labor management, and team development
- Proficient in ERP systems, data entry, inventory control, and reporting tools
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), email communication, and internet-based tools
- Familiar with Labor Management Systems (LMS/TA) and production software
- Understanding of business operations, safety protocols, and resource management
- Knowledge of HR practices, including training, performance management, and compliance
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems in fast-paced environments
- Clear and effective communication – written and verbal
- Directly supervise a team involved in manufacturing, distribution, and logistics
- Provide mentorship and growth opportunities for junior managers and team leaders
