Job Summary
Are you a motivated leader with a strong background in materials management and inventory control? We’re looking for a Material Flow Control Supervisor to lead our team of material handlers and ensure efficient, timely movement of materials to production lines. In this role, you'll play a critical part in maintaining seamless operations by analyzing material flow processes, resolving bottlenecks, and upholding inventory accurately to keep production running without interruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, direct, and engage in daily material flow operations to meet production demands.
- Communicate effectively with fellow supervisors regarding material issues or production delays.
- Train, motivate, and develop team members to ensure high performance and adherence to process standards.
- Track and report daily metrics on materials movement and transaction completion.
- Conduct employee evaluations, recommend promotions or reassignments as needed.
- Promote and enforce safety and housekeeping standards across the department.
- Lead and support annual physical inventory and reconciliation activities.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies from cycle counts and material audits.
- Oversee special inventory requests, ECNs (Engineering Change Notices), and material phase in/phase out processes.
- Perform accurate inventory transactions using ERP systems (preferably JDE).
- Use Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools to communicate results and trends biweekly.
- Conduct routine inventory audits and enforce adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Analyze shortages, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- 1+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or materials management environment.
- Undergraduate degree in supply chain, business, or related field OR 2–4 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination).
- Strong working knowledge of JDE ERP system or similar inventory management platforms.
- Solid understanding of inventory control, BOM (Bill of Materials), and material transaction processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Training in leadership, safety, quality, or manufacturing processes is a plus.
