Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized Materials Planner to oversee the scheduling and coordination of production activities, ensuring efficient operations and on-time product delivery. This role requires strong analytical skills to balance inventory levels, production capacity, and customer demands. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage order entry and production planning to meet customer specifications and delivery deadlines.
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure alignment with manufacturing capabilities.
- Process and prioritize customer orders, adjusting schedules as needed for rush priorities, material shortages, and cancellations.
- Establish and update manufacturing lead times in coordination with production teams.
- Escalate any delays or lead time issues to management.
- Maintain accuracy in inventory and material planning, ensuring proper allocation of resources.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify trends and drive process improvements.
- Coordinate shipments of materials to other facilities based on availability.
- Utilize JDE materials information system to manage inventory and production planning.
- Issue requisitions for special materials and subcontracted parts as needed.
- Communicate daily with purchasing teams regarding open shortages and material availability.
- Work closely with Production, Sales, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to mitigate risks and ensure smooth operations.
- Provide management with regular updates on production status, order fulfillment, and inventory levels.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with MRP systems.
- Strong proficiency in PC systems, data analysis, and MRP software.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to company facilities, vendors, or customer sites as needed.
