Job Title: Material Handler Order Picker
Location: Greensboro, NC

Job Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for moving raw materials and finished goods to the proper work areas or designated storage locations. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials through the production process, making it essential for the efficiency of the operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Material Movement: Supply operators with materials and move finished goods to the next operation, ensuring the proper flow through the production line.
  • Inventory Management: Report material shortages to the supervisor and assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels by tracking supplies.
  • Warehouse Operations: Use hand trucks, carts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials throughout the department.
  • Packaging and Storage: Assist in preparing finished products for palletizing and storage, ensuring products are correctly packaged for shipping.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain good housekeeping practices around work areas and adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped, including dates and locations.
  • Quality Control: Review shipments for quality and accuracy, ensuring the integrity of the manufacturing process.
  • Shipping Coordination: Confirm shipping details, expedite shipments that affect production schedules, and resolve issues with contractors or vendors.
  • Scrap Management: Collect and dispose of scrap materials like cardboard, strapping, and bracing, maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Additional Duties: Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling role is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials using equipment such as pallet jacks and carts.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve issues promptly and efficiently with contractors or vendors.
  • Safety Focused: Committed to maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
