Our client in Salisbury, the leading producer of alternative fuel storage and delivery systems, is seeking a Paint Supervisor to add to their team! This Temp to hire opportunity has a a 1st shift working schedule, and offers an excellent starting pay rate. The primary responsibilities include overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the paint process and team associates, and prepare and paint a variety of parts that are used to assembled alternative fuel systems for medium and heavy duty trucks. The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory or leadership experience and very knowledgeable of the paint industry in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
- Supervise the activities of the assigned paint team with respect to safety, quality, performance, cost, morale, and environment
- Confer with the paint operations manager to establish working schedules for all paint team associates
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering team to develop, improve, or standardize paint processes and work instruction
- Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of team associates
- Assure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.
- Develop KPIs and reporting means for paint production and improvements. Report this and other information to team, peers, and leadership as needed
- Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department
- Ensure supplies needed for paint operations are available as needed
- Inspect all work and rework. Identify root cause to drive zero defect culture
- Reduce waste including powder paint, wet paint, and other chemicals
- Ensure proper disposal of all chemicals utilized in Paint Department
- Monitor and insure compliance and regulations within Paint Department

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years supervisory experience in paint operations or similar environment
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to assess personnel requirements and evaluate production performance
- Ability to train, guide, and direct a team of production associates
- 5S and Six Sigma Greenbelt certification highly desired
- Proven, successful Leadership
- Strong project management skills
- Strong Microsoft office use of business systems (Prefer IFS)
