Job Description
The Resource is actively seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Winston-Salem! This is a full-time, permanent position within our corporate office, working as a part of our Finance team. This opportunity offers a competitive salary and bonus structure, with a full benefits package. The working schedule will be 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, and this position will report to our Controller. Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist include accurately gathering and entering payroll information in a timely manner for field employees and clients, and maintaining all necessary records. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and data entry skills, a sense or urgency, and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
- Enter payroll data into database system for clients and employees
- Notify individual branches of missing time cards/sheets
- Prepare relevant payroll reports
- Verify, prepare, and send client invoices
- Serve as liaison with employees or clients regarding payroll/invoice inquiries
- Complete and communicate Unemployment forms for the NC Department of Commerce (ESC)
- Complete employment and wage verifications or letters
- Enter Direct Deposit and/or paycard information into database
- Assign, sort and distribute paycards
- Enter any corrections received regarding payroll information into company database system
- Maintain the Payroll Department Procedures manual whenever necessary
- Maintain payroll related files and provide documentation as needed
- Prepare additional payroll and wage reports as needed
- Responsible for other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or two years of experience in a payroll/data entry position is preferred
- Knowledge of internal systems or ability to learn
- Clear understanding of the objectives and goals of the role
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas relating to field associate/employee personal information, client accounts and proprietary information
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of and ability to accurately record/input payroll information
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize job assignments appropriately
- Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing, demanding environment
- Excellent Time Management and Strong sense of urgency
- Flexibility in work schedules and duties
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Effective use of Microsoft Office tools – Word, Excel and Outlook
