We' re seeking a Planning Manager for our client, an apparel company, located in Lexington. This is a temp to hire opportunity, offering a competitive pay rate, and has a 1st shift working schedule of 8: 00am- 5: 00pm (Monday- Friday). The Planning Manager will work closely with the Merchandising/Product Managers to assure inventory is appropriate to support key merchandising strategies. The ideal candidate will have at 2-5 years of experience in apparel forecasting and planning. Candidates must have quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to understand forecasting and formulas. Responsibilities:
- Develop pre-season bottom up product level forecasts; Develop pre-season inventory flow strategies
- Revise and maintain in-season product level forecasts at an offer level
- Write and monitor purchase orders and; following inventory from time of creation to receipt
- Place efficient buys that support vendor and company strategies to obtain best costing
- Maintain seasonal forecasts for key products\vendors to ensure optimal service levels
- Analyze and identify selling trends, take action to maximize selling potential and minimize risk to inventory objectives and profitability
- Identify potential overstock issues, recommend markdowns, and put plans in place to sell through unproductive and obsolete inventory
- Develop and foster strong vendor partnerships
- Collaborate with Merchandising to manage in-season product appearances based on inventory availability and needs

Requirements:
- An Associate s Degree or proven relevant experience (catalog, retail and/or purchase order management experience)
- Strong logical and analytical skills
- Proven success in a detail oriented position
- Aptitude and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with an ability to learn and adapt to other business software
- Strong written and verbal skills; highly organized
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with rapidly changing priorities
- Extremely collaborative
- Knowledgeable of Direct Tech Merchandise Assortment Planning System (MAPS) & Forecasting System (F21), a plus
