Automotive Service Technician (Oil Change & Tire Services)

Location: Kernersville, NC
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Setting: On-site, Automotive Service Shop

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable Automotive Service Technician to join our fast-paced service team. This role focuses on oil changes, tire mounting and balancing, and basic vehicle maintenance services. The Automotive Service Technician plays a key role in keeping our shop running efficiently while delivering safe, high-quality service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform oil and filter changes following manufacturer and company guidelines
  • Mount, balance, rotate, and install tires accurately and efficiently
  • Perform basic tire repairs as needed
  • Check and top off vehicle fluids (coolant, brake fluid, washer fluid, etc.)
  • Inspect vehicles for basic maintenance needs and report findings to the Service Advisor or Manager
  • Replace engine air filters and cabin air filters
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow all shop safety procedures and company policies
  • Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with customers
Required Qualifications
  • Basic automotive knowledge preferred (on-the-job training provided)
  • Ability to safely operate shop equipment such as lifts, tire machines, and balancers
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an automotive or tire shop environment
  • Experience with tire mounting and balancing
  • Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance schedules
