The Resource is hiring a Quality Control Analyst for our client, a global ingredients solutions company, located in Winston-Salem, NC! This is a Temp-to-Hire role that offers a pay rate of $25.00 per hour, and has a 1st shift working schedule (7:00am-5:00pm). Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays when required. The Quality Control Analyst would be responsible for performing specialized testing in support of internal and external customers and departmental projects, calibrating and maintaining laboratory instruments, and completing accurate records of laboratory data. Ideal candidates for this role should have experience working in an analytical laboratory and an educational background in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field. Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain a safe, clean and accident-free laboratory environment
- Prioritize testing based on business needs and departmental goals
- Perform specialized testing in support of internal and external customers and departmental projects. Ensure non-routine testing is performed in an appropriate manner
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments
- Maintain complete and accurate records of laboratory data
- Review laboratory data for accuracy; communicate concerns and nonconformance's to laboratory supervisor and operations group
- Maintain a working knowledge of products and customer requirements
- Maintain sample retain library
- Participate in improvement of Quality Control and Food Safety systems through continuous improvement activities
- Releases Incoming Raw Materials for use in production based on business needs and quality metrics
- Conduct product non-conformance investigations under the supervision of Quality Lead
- Participate in laboratory proficiency testing programs
- Implement corrective actions agreed upon by laboratory management as a result of laboratory investigations or proficiency testing
- Stay current with scientific developments in areas of expertise and responsibility
- Evaluating new analytical equipment and instrumentation methodology
- Work with operations and planning to understand current demands of laboratory services; attend cross functional meetings as needed
- Participate in GMP, ISO, regulatory, and customer audits as needed
- Work with Operations to identify, investigate, and resolve process discrepancies
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-year experience working in an analytical laboratory
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field
- Basic knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and GMP preferred
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Analytical, organized, and detailed oriented
- Strong communication and math skills
- Self-starter with a high degree of initiative
- Availability to work weekend shifts, Holidays, and cover overtime shifts
