Are you looking for a permanent Quality Control position within the Triad? This company has an immediate opening for a Temp-to-Hire, 1st Shift position - with the working hours of 7: 00am-4: 00pm OR 8: 00am-5: 00pm, and a pay rate of approximately $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

The Ingredient Quality Control department has primary responsibility for the daily evaluation of raw materials, Liquid production, Beverage Production, Extracts and Powder Production departments, as well as outside vendors. The large volume of flavors and variety of laboratory tests require an individual who can not only perform the required duties, but also document the results in the format mandated by the Company HACCP Program and QC SOP. This position has the primary responsibility of approving raw materials for use by confirming their integrity by analytical methods including using GC/MS and GC/FID methods. Job Functions:
- Operate all equipment to perform routine QC tests including: Density Meter, Refractometer, Moisture Balance, Lab Balance and pH Meter
- Use analytical glassware properly including: Volumetric Flasks, Volumetric Pipets, Graduated Cylinder and Pipettor
- Prepare solutions as needed including: Standard color solutions for spectrophotometer verification, and Raw Material solutions used for GC/MS analysis
- Basic Computer Skills in order to understand a basic spreadsheet (MS Excel), and enter results into Vicinity (LIMS system)
- Recognize when results are out of specification, and when information is missing from shipment documents (COA and COO)
- Ability to transcribe results accurately
- Able to collect microbiological samples properly, properly sterilize collection equipment, and collect correct sample sizes and compound samples correctly
- Keep retains organized in order to retrieve and file retains, and assist in discarding older retains
- Communicate to management when retains are not available
- Adhere to Safety Regulations such as wearing proper equipment, attire, and adhering to procedures

- Bachelor' s degree in Chemistry or Biology with at least 1 year of relevant experience, OR at least 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Basic mathematical skills
- Understanding of Company Process and Program, product codes and terminology
- Ability to complete the food safety and regulatory training programs
- Tact and human relations skills in dealing with supervisors and other employees
- Must pass the Company prescribed, job specific testing and pre-employment screening
