Job Title: Quality Manager
Location: Lexington, NC
Join our clients team as a Quality Manager and lead efforts to uphold and enhance their Quality Management System (QMS). They are a forward-thinking organization specializing in high-quality manufacturing, and are seeking a dynamic leader to ensure customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and compliance with quality standards. This is a direct hire position.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Quality Management System Leadership
- Act as the Management Representative, ensuring the QMS is established, implemented, and maintained.
- Report on QMS performance and improvement opportunities to leadership.
- Promote awareness of customer requirements across the organization.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external parties regarding QMS-related matters.
- Communicate updates and changes in quality systems certifications.
- Oversee all aspects of the Quality Department, ensuring products meet or exceed customer specifications through inspections (First Article, Last Article, In-process, AQL).
- Address and resolve customer quality issues, including deviations, rejected product reviews, and engineering drawing updates.
- Foster strong customer relationships by scheduling regular visits to address quality concerns.
- Collect and analyze data for Management Review and compile monthly and annual quality objectives.
- Act as a key member of the APQP Team, preparing for production of new or modified products.
- Attend daily management meetings to report on internal and external product quality metrics.
- Verify timely completion of First and Last Article inspections by Quality Line Auditors.
- Manage containment of nonconforming/suspect products in the MRA area.
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and timely resolution of quality issues.
- Oversee the Global Metrology system and ensure adequate supplies are stocked in the Quality Department.
- Conduct timely evaluations of all Quality Department personnel.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure follow-ups on assignments.
- Enforce company policies fairly, administering disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Monitor absenteeism, time management, and overtime within the team.
- Train and develop quality personnel through documentation, on-the-job training, and work instructions.
- Adapt to changes in daily priorities as directed by the Plant Manager.
- Lead team meetings to communicate job-related information.
- Minimize overtime and align departmental goals with company objectives.
- Participate in shift meetings to address quality concerns with the workforce.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on employee engagement programs.
- Facilitate the Continuous Improvement Program and promote cross-departmental communication.
- Proven experience in managing Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Expertise in quality assurance practices, including inspections, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
