Job Description
We're hiring a Quality Technician for our client, a provider of rolling stock and infrastructure solutions and technologies for the global rail industry, located in Winston-Salem. The position is Temp-to-Hire, offers a pay rate of $21.50 per hour, and has a 3rd shift working schedule (11:00pm-7:00am).The Quality Technician would be responsible for ensuring conformity to the quality processes in addition to supporting quality initiatives in the manufacturing facility. Qualified candidates must have a great mechanical aptitude and computer skills in order to improve safety, quality, and efficiency of the inspection operations. Responsibilities:
- Have ability to perform all inspection duties
- Participate in efforts to investigate and resolve quality issues associated with Engine Assembly and sub assembly
- Communicate frequently with team members, team leaders, and supervisors
- Perform root cause analysis to investigate quality issues resulting from suppliers or Engineering design
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Gather data from various tools, gages and tooling systems and prepare data reports, quality analysis and reviews
- Requires an excellent attendance record and willingness to work overtime when necessary or required for the area working
- Measure component dimensions and interpret results for conformance versus drawing requirements
- Communicate inspection results to operations department colleagues
- Provide feedback in a constructive and diplomatic fashion
Qualifications:
- GD&T and print reading proficiency
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Power Point, Word)
- Ability to maintain Gage Databases is a plus
- Proficient operating PC-DMIS measurement Software
- 2-3 years of CMM operations, equipment use and process execution
- 3-4 years inspection experience in Manufacturing Environment
