Position Summary:
As the Senior Cost Accountant, you’ll manage all aspects of manufacturing cost accounting, ensuring accuracy in product costing and inventory management. You’ll play a key role in driving strategic decisions through financial analysis and reporting, providing actionable recommendations to senior management. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze the manufacturing cost sections of the P&L and balance sheet, including reporting and forecasting.
- Lead the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and reviewing results in Epicor ERP and EDA software.
- Manage cost functions to ensure accurate product cost and inventory compliance with corporate reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with FP&A and operations to cost new products and support manufacturing operations through variance and root cause analysis.
- Develop and implement efficiency metrics, supporting inventory optimization initiatives.
- Lead the cycle count program and perform annual material, labor, and burden standards reviews.
- Participate in the preparation and analysis of financial reports for quarterly and monthly business reviews.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience: 5+ years in accounting (cost accounting preferred) and 3+ years of operational experience, particularly with inventory.
- Technical Skills:
- Epicor ERP experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills, with financial modeling and analytical expertise.
- Experience with PowerBI or other data analytics tools preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
