Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior R&D Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be a key leader in solving complex engineering problems, developing cutting-edge products and processes, and leading engineering or company projects. Your work will help shape the future of medical technologies by collaborating closely with physicians, suppliers, and cross-functional teams. As a Senior R&D Engineer, you will be at the forefront of advancing healthcare solutions that meet the unmet clinical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Physicians: Interact with physicians to gain deep clinical insights and understand unmet needs within clinical areas.
- Innovate and Develop: Create new patents, prototypes, equipment, processes, and tools, driving advancements in medical technologies.
- Design for Usability and Compliance: Design products with a focus on usability, manufacturing efficiency, and regulatory requirements.
- Supplier & Expert Engagement: Evaluate and collaborate with suppliers and experts to select and develop materials and designs for components.
- Prototype Testing: Conduct simulated use testing on prototypes to ensure functionality, usability, and safety.
- Scientific Methods: Apply experimental and computational scientific methods to optimize designs, processes, and equipment, and to develop process parameters and design outputs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and clear documentation for verifications, validations, design history, risk management, and manufacturing instructions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage and negotiate effectively with multiple stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes.
- Project Management: Develop and execute engineering plans in a timely manner, ensuring the successful completion of projects.
- Safety & Training Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety guidelines, company quality, and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with all required safety protocols.
- Professionalism: Exhibit professional behavior in all interactions within the organization and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Continuous Improvement: Show resilience and actively seek feedback to improve performance, demonstrating a commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Creative and Scientific Maturity: Apply mature problem-solving methods to address challenges within R&D.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
- A minimum of a 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Design, Materials Science, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of engineering experience OR a Master's degree with at least 3 years of engineering experience OR a PhD.
- Manual Dexterity: Must have good manual dexterity for handling components and tools.
- Work Environment: Hybrid role, with 1-3 days per week spent onsite in a normal office environment or a clean laboratory/production setting that requires protective clothing and safety glasses.
- Travel: Up to 25% of the time may be spent traveling to hospitals, physicians' offices, suppliers, and public places.
