Job Description
The Resource is hiring Slitter Operators for our client, a global leader in custom consumer product packaging and industrial metals-based laminates in the wire & cable, construction, and tobacco markets, located in High Point. This is a permanent, Direct-Hire opportunity that offers a starting pay rate of $20.00, and has a great benefits package once hired. Openings are available on 1st and 2nd shift. The Slitter Operator would be responsible for setting up slitter machines, performing safety checks, and ensuring the proper materials are in place. Qualified candidates for this role should have previous experience working with machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
- Works with special equipment and materials to cover, strengthen, and protect product and materials
- Operate the slitter machine
- Maintain the rollers and materials
- Read and interpret job tickets and specifications, input the correct settings, monitor equipment Troubleshoot any problems that arise during operation of the laminating machine
- Setup unwind by hanging B&C or CLS laminated master rolls. - Splice new material to old material correctly
- Monitor machine operation and follows all applicable shut down procedures when necessary
- Comply with all safety requirements, including wearing of PPE
- Safely operate variety of material moving equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists to transport and lift materials finished products
