The Resource is hiring Welders for our client, a provider of custom fabrication of steel, stainless steel, aluminum and sheet metal products, located in Lexington. This opportunity is Temp-to-Hire, offers a pay rate up to $26.00 per hour (depending on experience),  and has a 1st shift working schedule (6:00am-3:45pm Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 11:00am Friday). The Welder would be responsible for following company procedures to fit and weld parts in accordance with customer specifications and standards. Qualified candidates for this position should have previous welding experience, able to read and interpret blue prints, experience with measuring tools, and knowledge of wire and fill applications for various metals. Responsibilities:
- Follow company procedures to set up welder machine (when applicable)
- Fit and weld parts per specifications
- Follow inspection sheet to inspect part utilizing appropriate instruments
- Grind parts when necessary to clean poor welds
Complete work order form to accurately record time and parts used
- Notify Weld Supervisor when weld process is completed
Maintain Weld Department. Sweep and pick up trash to keep work station clean
- Wear required safety equipment: steel-toed boots; safety glasses or helmet
- Operate forklift when needed
- Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 1 year MIG welding/GMAW experience
- Minimum 1 year blue print reading experience
- Must pass weld certification as per client requirements
- Pass internal welding test
- Proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Flux, Brazing)
- Ability to use required inspection instruments (calipers, height gauge, tape measure, protractor, square, weld gauge, etc.)
- Knowledge of wire and fill applications for various metals
- Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
- Forklift Operation experience
- Ability to complete tasks that require repetitive motions, grasping, holding, finger dexterity, reading, writing, prepare and analyze figures, visual inspection, hearing, talking, standing, sitting, reading, writing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling, reaching
